JD 302A- in an ag tractor

There may or not be an equivalent ag model, I don't know enough about JD history to tell you if that was a thing in the 70s.

Suggest you go to tractor data for the 302a:

Look at some key specs like made 74-81, 2.7L 53hp 6300lbs with loader for example.

Then look at the ag tractor list and start matching ballpark specs:

Pick out some likely candidates -for example the 1130 is pretty similar

Made 74-79, 2.7L 53hp, 4800 lbs without loader, etc.

From there look at Deere parts catalog diagrams for major assemblies and Google images of both machines to compare.

Another thought is to find part numbers or used assemblies at parts houses and see what other models it fits

I'm thinking they were similar to the 1020 TractorData.com John Deere 1020 tractor information We had 2 301A gassers at work with side mount sickle bar mowers, really sweet to mow with. The weakest link on them was the mid-mount PTO was engaged with a small lever mounted on the side of the torque tube, and you needed to be pretty gentle engaging them or you'd shear the roll pin on the inside and have to split the tractor to replace. Other than that, they were a sweet bullet proof tractor.

****Rechecked and the 302 maybe similar to the 2020 Ag. model.***

The 302A is a modified 1520. They share the same injection pump, and many other components.
