Changing Engine Oil and Filter
1. Run engine to warm the oil.
2. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)
3. Place drain pan under oil drain located on left side of engine.

4. Remove drain plug (A).
Remove two drain plugs on model 3720.
5. Wipe dirt from around oil filter (B).
6. Turn filter counter-clockwise to remove.
7. Put a light coat of clean engine oil on the gasket of new filter.
8. Install replacement oil filter by turning filter clockwise until gasket contacts filter base. Tighten additional one-half turn.
9. Install drain plug. Do not overtighten.
Install two drain plugs on model 3720.
10. Remove oil fill cap (C).
11. Add recommended engine oil.
12. Install oil fill cap.


Do you have any torque values for the drain plugs? It is a bit confusing with all the differerent bolts mentioned in the manual. I'll also be changing the hydro and front axle oil as well, so any help on those torque values would be appreciated too.

For the engine oil plug take a normal wrench (what ever size it takes) and pull on it with one hand till its snug. do not use a 3ft adjustable wrench. For the mfwd you will need a 1/4 and 3/16 allen wrench or hex sockets. the mfwd drain plugs are just pipe plugs with pipe thread so they wont stop turning when the head bottoms out like a normal drain plug or bolt. just tighten them lightly with one hand and stop. Dont forget to use some teflon tape on the threads. The ops manual specifys jd hygard in the mfwd but the TBN guys mite have some better suggestions.
