John Deere 4120
Does anyone know why the cab option is not available on the 4120 like it is on the other 4000 series tractors? I'm not getting a cab, but was curious. The 4120 is the same frame size as the 4320 - 4720. I'm over my budget already on a new tractor but do like the size of the 4000 series over the 3000. To those that own a 4120, how is the power? Maybe the weight with the cab max's out the 4120's 43hp workability?

I think the horse power robbing air conditioning is a factor.

That makes sense. So 4120 tractor owners...do you lack HP?

How much price difference is there between the various 4x20's these days? With the 4520 and 4720 you get eThrottle.

I'm over my budget as it is with the 4120. I don't care for the eThrottle. 4520 / 4720 probably $4-$6k more

JMER,
Having a 110tlb and a 4520 both with cabs I would say both will get the job done but the 4520 is faster. The higher hp at the pto will make a difference in how many acres you can mow/hour or rototill/hour.

If the tractors weigh the same they can both pull with about the same force but the higher hp tractor will pull the load at a higher ground speed.

While I have the ethrottle on the 4520 and use it all the time (works great) not having it wouldn't be a deal breaker. There is a big difference between 43hp and 60hp no doubt about it but both tractors can get a lot of work done. If the 4120 fits your budget better then go for it, it is a nice tractor.

I think it is because the 3720 in the series below is just about equal in horsepower and is available in cab. That's what I was told when I bought my open station 4120. So far very good service and plenty power compared to the 3320 I sold. You can really tell the difference in the 4 cylinder deere turbo engine compared to the yanmar 3 cylinder on my old 3320. I love mine so far.

Bbraud6. What do you use your 4120 for? What attachments do you have?

I have a 4120 and like it very much. Never had a power issue. I use mine moving 3/4 minus gravel, back blade work and hauling in cords of hardwood.
