One more question -- several dealers I've called have said it is easy to get parts -- are they just saying that or is it really still easy to get parts given its 25-30 years old... ?

Still a "young" tractor in the JD world . You may not agree w/ replacement part pricing but I would not expect any major availability issues.

Biggest issues will be the attachments.

Go here, enter 750 for Model, find a few parts with part numbers for the 750, call a dealer and ask for a price. Dealer will give you a price or tell you unavailable.
