I ordered the chains to fit my tires online and I am in the process of installing them. To me, it looks like they aren't wide enough, ie the side links should be farther down on the tire. Now I am not used to running R4's so I don't know how they should look. Looking at the tire, the chains DO extend down almost half the depth of the tire, but because the lugs are so tall, it looks to me that the chains are short in width. Tell me what you think.

Looks about normal to me. Did the vendor ask the size of your tires when you ordered? I presume that they would get it right.

Here's my fit

I ordered the correct size, but it looked small to me, yours are about the same so I guess I am good. I wanted to make sure before I cut them.
Thanks

Looks good to me, my side chain is much closer to the rim than yours. Maybe mine are too big, but they;ve served me well for the last 25 years.

That is normal, I have very similar chains (Duo 239's H-pattern).

purchased these chains a few years ago and they work great with 4 to 5 months of ice solid on the driveway.
