Comparison Kioti DK40SE HST vs Mahindra 4035

I really like the hydrostat on my DK.

Something else to consider, is the age and hours on both machines in question.
You were saying the 2011 Mahindra was several thousand less than new..with how many hours on it?

I have never priced the 4035 but I kind of thought Kioti and Mahindra were fairly close in price?

Shouldn't that make It several thousand less than the Kioti, assuming the Kioti is a current model?
Beware when they tell you your getting so much off of MSRP...Nobody pays MSRP...... Current or non current model.

Also consider resale value, they will tell you that the year doesn't matter with tractors...until you want to trade it in;)

If there is really no price difference I would definitely take the newer Kioti with Hydro.

grm61- The 2011 Mahindra is still at dealer and has <10 hours. New prices I got in my area are $21,500 for the DK40 SE HST and around $24k for a 2014 Mahindra 4035 PST. I can get the leftover 2011 Mahindra for $21k.

Only you can decide what is best for you...If the NEW Mahindra is a 2014 that would make it a tier 4 machine...Computer, emmisions controls...All tier 4 machines for 2014 are 2500 to 3000+ more than last years models..Tier3.

That is why the 2014 4035 is 24k instead of 21 something.
IMO your not being offered any discount for the 2011 machine.

I'd buy the Kioti myself.

Good luck

IMO the fit and finish is much better on the Kioti. Look at all the small details. Obviously this is just my opinion, so don't everyone beat me up on it.
I bought the 2013 DK40hst and a Mahindra dealer was just 1 mile from the Kioti dealer.

A year ago when I bought my 4035HST it too was a 'leftover' on the dealers lot. Less than 10 hours on the meter. As I recall there was a similar discount versus buying a new model. (Of course he didn't have a new model . . .) But except for the very slightest fading in the paint, you could not tell it from new.

I haven't driven a 4035, so I can't really comment on it, other than book specs, but I can say that $21,500 for a DK40SE HST is a very good price...about $1000-1500 better than I've seen anybody post in a year or so.

I had both dealerships practically across the street from each other when I was making my decision. As many have suggested, I made the decision based on driving both and my experience with my previous tractor from India. 300 plus hours later, I am still very happy with my DK45se HST.

I guess my only question would be what effect the new tier 4 standards have made. The price your showing for the DK seems okay considering the added expense for the new standards. I paid about $1K less several years ago, but got a hardtop roof and grapple as part of that deal. Good luck on your search.

They seem to have been increasing in price around $1K per year for the last few years.

None of the DK40,45,50's are Tier 4 final. The series will be discontinued shortly.
The DK 40 is mechanically injected and has no exhaust after treatment.

NX will have the tier4 final treatment and it will/has replaced the DK40.

Kioti dealer sold the last DK40, so he offered me a DK45 hst for same price. Pulled the trigger. Could not justify spending same amt on 2011 leftover Mahindra. Hopefully will be delivered monday. Thanks for all the input/advice.
