kubota b1700 cant get transmission strainer back into tracter

i removed my transmission strainer cleaned it but it will not screw back in. there must be trick to reseat it before it will screw back in?

Could there be some junk stuck in the threads in the frame? May just be a tight fit and need to be aligned straight in before it starts.

I tend to put something like that in place, then turn it counterclockwise (as if trying to unscrew it) until I feel the threads drop and then screw it in clockwise.

Yes I tried this I cleaned out the inside threads but still no luck I'll keep working with it

Yes I tried to turn it counterclockwise but it still doesn't connect with the threads I think it needs to be pushed in to connect I'll keep working with it
