Kubota cab phone charger

I was needing a way to charge my cell phone in my 4060 LE. Cell signal is weak in my location which drains the phone fairly quickly. There is a place for an optional cigarette lighter socket with the wiring harness already there ready to install. My dealer wanted $63 something for that 12 V socket, after doing a little looking around I found a dual USB charger port at Amazon for about $10. I had to make the existing hole a little bit bigger for this to fit.

Nice job!! Just out of curiosity, why did you not install a generic 12v plug? You would have been able to plug other things in there as well.. ei. small cooler, inverter, etc..

Very nice and clean install. My non LE came with the cigarette lighter socket, so I use a duel USB charger with volt meter that plugs into it. It also splits the original socket providing 2 switchable outlets.
I rarely use the large connectors, but wanted them available for my strobe and 500w inverter.

Good question, I really don’t have an answer other than since I’ve never needed one it never crossed my mind, lol. I’ve always got the accessory power on the left window pillar if needed.

I put one similar to that on my motorcycle but with a volt meter and it works great. Nice clean install on yours, none of my tractors have one I may have to look at that.

Wow, I guess Kubota deleted the cigar lighter as well as the tank filler strainer. Both mine have both but then they are older units.

I did the same thing to one of my motorcycles, at first I had it wired direct but it would drain the battery over six or seven weeks. Had to add a switch.

With nothing plugged into the outlet it still drained the battery by virtue of it's existence? Is that right?

I ask because I'm looking to eventually install a 12 volt outlet on my Kioti, but I've never done it before.

Yes it did, now that was on a motorcycle which has a bout 1/4 size battery compared to the tractor. It was LED backlit That was constantly lit up whether anything was plugged into it or not. The tractor port that I installed is Activated only when the ignition switch is in the run position.

I added 12v accessory outlet to my L2501 too. It’s been a great addition!
