Kubota B3000HSDCC, BH77, 5' Belly Mower, 6' Hyd. Angle Plow
Hi all,

We got our 2012 B3000HSDCC delivered today. It has 217 hours on it.

And it went great, with the exception that the driver initially didn't get enough height, on his ramp ends, to prevent the BH's lower boom frame from plowing about a 6"-deep trench into our thankfully (fairly) soft lawn. Before I knew it, it was buried. We then put some 4"x4"s I had, under his ramp ends, and the BH frame no longer "plowed."

But now I'm bummed, as I fear the dirt may have been driven up into the lower boom pin/hinge area.

I've included some pics, and would welcome any advice about the BEST way to ensure that my "new" (to me) B3000's BH isn't going to wear, prematurely, from this "dirt injection."

You can see from the first, three pics how clean this one-owner, garage-kept (waxed!) machine was, when it arrived. And while I realize, from the missing paint, that this isn't the first time the BH's frame has "grounded," the fact that it was driven, BACKWARDS, into the dense ground, as opposed to dragging forwards, over a loose "spoils" pile, makes me concerned about premature wear to the pin/boss area, from any dirt driven in there....

In other words, I don't think I should use compressed air, as that would seem to drive the dirt IN (not to mention spray grease everywhere).

I don't mind getting in there with a dental pic, and rags, but is that enough?

Or do I have to drive out the (barely-used) pin, and clean out the pin bosses/pin and re-grease?

(I should add that I've never taken the BH off, and do not have a Work Shop Manual, though I'm sure there's a specific ORDER one must follow, to allow that pin to be driven out, without bad things happening. Plus, I don't know if I have a brass drift of the correct size, and have never driven a Kubota pin out).

Thanks, much!

If the dirt bothers you pressure wash it and pump some more grease into the zerk. I doubt I would even wash it. Just grease it. Absolutely nothing to worry about in my opinion.

Pump grease into the pins then wash the area with WD40 to clean the rest.

It is going to get a lot dirtier in the future.

Nice machine

What they said, really nothing to worry about.

Yep, nothing to worry about.

The dirt just got in the seam where the boom sits inside the swing post. Very unlikely that any dirt made the 90 degree turn and migrated in where the boom actually rotates around the pin.

Pump it with grease and enjoy the machine

Oh man, relax. I agree with the group. It's going to get alot worse than that unless you never leave the yard. Pump some grease in, brush the dirt off and enjoy your new machine. You COULD paint it but it won't last long.

Just pound the grease to it and carry on.

Problems like this make me glad my tractor is old and rusty.

Heck, that is a daily occurrence with my L45. If I notice, I may hose it off or not. But I do grease everything every 10 hrs.

If it is worth anything, I agree with all other posters. Grease it and keep it greased per the manual and enjoy your new tractor. Mine has looked like that more than a few times and has had no problems. Congrats on the new purchase!
