Kubota GR2100 backing up question

I have a GR2100 with 8 hrs on the clock now and ready to hook the Cyclone Rake up. I would like to know if other GR owners have experienced the lack of power to back up any of the steep slopes in their yard? There are a few places in my front yard that are fairly steep and without my CR hooked up it really struggles to back up. I was wondering if with the Cyclone Rake hooked up, loaded with debris would be able to back up if needed without blowing the transmission out on to the ground. I haven’t hooked the CR up yet, I have to modify the hitch mechanism to fit to the back end of the mower. Something I might be able to do in the next week, if I can bring myself to welding on the new toy. Anyhow any feed back on backing up a hill or suggestions would be appreciated.

You may have a jam nut loose or just out of adjustment. Mine was loose when delivered. I will post a picture of the nuts...they are right below the pedal. The top bolt/nut/jamnut is for forward...the bottom is for reverse. FWIW, when properly adjusted my GR will climb anything backward that it will forward...

Re: Kubota GR2100 backing up question

Thanks Slam, I’ll check it out tomorrow to see if the nuts are loose or out of adjustment. I guess from the looks of your set up, I’ll see if mine close to yours. One thing I just remembered (I'm over 50) is that I have not been running at full throttle, it being new I had been running it at about 80%. That may be the problem the hydro pump not building up enough pressure to drive it up a steep slope in reverse. I should have CR hookup completed by the end of the week and try it out on the yard.

Thanks again for the advice.

Re: Kubota GR2100 backing up question

Well I finally got the CR hooked up to my GR2100. see the following attachments. The question I had earlier about having enough power to backup my steep hill here at the house. No problem with the CR attached and full of mulch. I was following the break in instructions not to run full throttle, at full throttle it backs up the steepest hill with no problem.
