Had some noises while mowing that should not be there, shut it down.
Checked the usual suspect, the mower, no problemo.
Noticed hydraulic fluid on the PTO shaft and on the ground, crawled under the tractor, nothing.
No fluid in the sight glass (plastic), oh ****!
Noticed it was at the center of the wet tractor. It was ajar! Actually it was broken, gack, fell out in my hand in pieces.
$17 for the new sight gauge, $300 + tax for the 10 gallons of fluid. Hope the HST is not toast...
Back to mowing.

I was moving creek rock and it being wet was leaving a drip trail. So I was a bit slow noticing that some of the drips weren’t water.
Finally noticed an oil sheen on some of the water.
Yep my plastic sight glass was cracking and in the process of falling out.
May be an item that after a few years would be smart to replace. Of course mine made it 30 years before failing.
