L3130
I weighed my pickup today and it came in @ 5140#
After I put a bucket of dirt on it it weighted 6460#

So, not counting the weight of the bucket that comes to about 1320#.

It was picking up more than I thought. That makes me feel better.

Thanks for all the replies on the other post.

Thanks for posting that. I often wondered about the actual lifting weight. I just figured that these L3130's are way too underpowered....dang...more truth! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We all must work within the capibilities of the equipment. These are compact tractors, not full size backhoes or payloaders.

My full sized large JD510D backhoe only has a 1.25 cubic foot front bucket with a lift capacity of 7,050 pounds. It weighs over 19,000 pounds.

This compares to about 4,000 pounds for this tractor with the loader weight.

Kubota/JD bucket capacity 9.9/33.75 equals 29%
lift capacity to full height 1003/7050 equals 14%
weight of unit 4000/19000 equals 21%
horsepower 32.1/100 equals 32%
Kubota lift capacity to weight 1003/4000 25%
JD lift capacity to weight 7050/19000 37%

The backhoe hanging off the back of the 510D probably weighs close to the L3130. The lift capacity of the Kubota is designed by not the capacity of the tractor to lift but the capacity to safely handle the load for the size tractor.

The Kubota is designed to do a multitude of different functions. The JD backhoe is designed to move dirt only.

New kubota price/new JD price about 20%.

Having both to do the job right, priceless.

Glad to see you figured it out!! That much dirt weight plus bucket weight would have the 723 FEL near it's logical limits.

I thought in the initial post you said it was lifting the load to near the hood. Suprised it did that well. You know Kubota and the underating of their equipment like they do though, it's not suprising. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Glad also to see you won't have to bury it and read it the last rights. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, after I weighed the bucket of dirt it suprised me.

I could have heaped a little more on it. It will lift it only hood high when you have that much on it.
