Some have seen my other post on a ripped front rubber that covers the tie rod. I have been able-- with the help from the TBN folks--- get this fixed with little problems. I also since have fab some covers that extend further than the factory metal guards. These were made out of conveyor belt and I used ALL the factory holes and bolts with no drilling to the stock parts. I am posting a few pics of the fix and guards I made to hopefully help someone else out.

I did something similar, but I made the cover out of a bedliner and made it wider so that the boots are always covered. Pictures attached:
