As bad as it may sound, I think some dealers don't want customers to have shop manuals. It seems like the better dealers don't mind ordering them for customers and then there are the others.
L3400 shop manual $300 dealer says!

I would call the dealer and let him know where you got one and how much you bought one for. $300 is ridiculous.

i found my shop manual on ebay for 35.00,it was a reprint but very well done and in a binder and for 10.00 more he threw in the mmm and operators manuals,ebay sellers name was, low cost 4 u

I've already placed an order from Messicks for both the parts manual and the shop manual and together with shipping are about $100.

Would the L4200 manual be the one I am looking for or is there a specific one for the 4240?
