I have a L345DT that was leaking oil from behind the alternator. In my trouble shooting I pulled out
the dip stick and a oil/diesel mixture sprayed out. It was over full by around 2 gallons. How could that
much diesel have gotten in the oil ?

Here are a few things that might of happened.
The fuel pump might have a leak allowing fuel into the crankcase.
The injector pump might have a leak allowing fuel into the crankcase.
One piston might have a hole in it or rings are toast allowing fuel into the crankcase.
I would start by changing the oil and testing the primary fuel pump then the injector pump. The good side is you just flushed out your engine./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Hopfully its just a bad fuel pump.
Let us know the outcome. Good luck

Fuel pump was the problem. Easy fix this time. Thanks for all the help !!

Your quite welcome---Make sure to short change your oil---run a few hours and change the oil again to be on the safe side. That diesel mix loosened up alot of crud that will go right to the filter.
Glad to hear it was the least expensive fix./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
