I have a two year old Land Pride FDR1660 finish mower. The first belt lasted two years and only went bad because I let it get too loose. Since then replacement belts have only lasted a month or two. The Land Pride dealer wants $62+ for his belt with a GENUINE Land Pride part number. Otherwise replacements can be had for as little as $18. The problem is they don't last. What's with a Kevlar belt anyway? Are they really that much stronger.

I have a 1560 and one of the bearings went bad and started breaking belts. No fun buying those belts. I replaced it and its been good ever since. Even still, I always bush hog tall grass first.

Thanks for the bearing call. I'm not familiar with the 1560. I had thought mine would make more noise if a bearing was bad but maybe not, easy enough to check. I had an earlier mower, a Rhino, that never did require belt or bearing replacement in 8 years and 800+ hours. I'll check the bearings tonite.

1560 is a 60" Land Pride rear discharge finish mower.
