I just picked up the powered rake for a decent price. Some of the tines are broken off and I was wondering if I should replace them or just forget about them ? They look king of useless to me. What would the tines be good for ?

The tines are used to loosen soil which will throw it over the roller to the back side. If you have several missing in one area you should be able to see a difference in how it works. I would replace as needed. If missing tines are staggered then you may not tell much difference. very odd of these to be broke off this unit, theres a story there

Thanx for the info.
It will be a few months until I try it so I might as well bite the bullet and replace the broken tines. I bought the unit from a private owner and it looks to be in very good condition. I figure the broken tines were from misuse. There is a lot of clay around here, but I figure the broken tines are from rocks ?

Rocks should not bother your unit....unless your bouncing the drum off to ground at a high mph.
