implements make great ballast. A field mower should be able to take a decent smack, but you are probably going to want to be a bit more careful with a finish mower about backing into things.

thanks for the replies everyone. I'll leave it on! It's a bush hog and pretty heavy duty. i hit a tree with it and it didn't even leave a mark.
