DOES ANYONE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KUBOTA LOADERS MODEL 1630 AND 1640 A . I JUST BOUGHT A B7100 AND HAVE THE CHANCE TO GET A 1640A LOADER TO PUT ON IT AND AM WONDERING IF I CAN MAKE IT FIT. THE LOADER CAME OFF A B1750 SO I WILL HAVE TO ALTER THE SUB FRAME, BUT WILL THE 7100 RUN THE 1640 LOADER.

I have a B7200 with a B1640A loader. The operating manual for it is dated 3/86. Quoting the first section of the manual:

The Kubota Model's 1640 & 1640 Loaders have been specifically designed to mount on "B" Series Kubota Tractors, only!

One of the following mount kits is required to install the B1630 Loader to the applicable Kubota two or four wheel drive tractor.

1. B1633 Kit for B5200 E & D tractors.

2. B1633 Kit for B6200 & B7200 Gear tractors.

3. B1634 Kit for B6100 & B7100 Gear Tractors.

4. B1635 Kit for B6100 & B7100 HST Tractors.

5. B1639 Kit for B6200 & B7200 HST Tractors.

The B1640 Loader, as received, will fit all 200 series Kubota tractors, thru the B7200. It will not fit the older 100 Series Tractors. No special mount kits are required for fit up to the following Kubota Tractors.

The B1640 loader has been designed primarily for use on the B6200, B6200 and B7200 Gear tractors, but is not compatible with a mid-mount mower.

Unfortunately the manual’s English is a bit stilted. It does not specifically identify the differences between the two loaders.

Further in the manual under assembly is the following:
The B1630 Rigid Mount and the B1640 Quick Attach Loaders have been specifically designed to mount on “B” Series Kubota Tractors.

Hopes this helps!

THANKS BARRY, IT DOES HELP. LOOKS LIKE THE 1995 B 7100 I HAVE WILL RUN THE 1640 LOADER , IF I CAN MAKE THE SUB FRAME FIT. THE LOADER LOOKS TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE , AND FOR $1000.00 I THINK I HAVE TO TRY TO MAKE IT WORK. I FIGURE I CAN ALWAYS SELL IT AND GET MY MONEY BACK IF I CAN'T GET IT ON THE TRACTOR. HAVE YOU SEEN ANY 1640 LOADERS SELL ON LINE AND WHAT WAS THE PRICE RANGE , I AM JUST ASSUMING THAT $1000.00 IS A GOOD PRICE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS B7100 HST ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND I HAVE NOT BEEN FOLLOWING KUBOTA STUFF ON LINE, I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING JOHN DEERE EQUIPMENT BUT NOT KUBOTA .

BARRY , HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN YOUR LOADER PICK UP AND HOW MUCH WEIGHT DO YOU RUN ON THE BACK OF YOUR TRACTOR. DO YOU HAVE WHEEL WEIGHTS OR DO YOU HAVE THE REAR TIRES LOADED WITH LIQUID. HOW MANY PAGES IS THE MANUAL FOR THE 1640 LOADER AND DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE I MIGHT GET ONE. I WENT TO MY LOCAL KUBOTA DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT EVEN FIND THE 1630 OR 1640 LOADERS LISTED IN THEIR COMPUTER ( NOT IMPRESSED WITH THEM ).

Mike, why are you yelling? Caps are very irritating to read.

Hi Mike,

The Kubota 1630 & 1640 Loader Operator's Manual is Form 70000-70257 dated 3/86.

The Illustrated Parts List manual is Form 70000-70343 dated 10/96.

Hopefully with the form #, you will be able to order a manual. The Illustrated Parts List is also quite
useful as it shows all of the parts for all of the subframes as well as everything on the loader.

I will quote the specs from the operators manual:
Tractor Model Kubota B7200D
ASAE Rated Lift Capacity 600 lbs
ASAW Rated Breakout Force 1,000 lbs
Lift Cylinder Bore 1.5 in
Stroke 16 in.
Bucket Cylinder Bore 1.5 in.
Stroke 16 in.
Control Valve One Detent Float Position Power Beyond Cirduit
Relief Valve Setting @ 113 Deg F 1450 psi.
Weight 387 lbs.
(I believe this weight is without the bucket.)

Bucket Specs:
Model # 42 48 54
Width 42 in 48 in 54 in
Length 18.9 in 18.9 in 18.9 in
Height 18.5 in 18.5 in 18.5 in
Capacity Struck 4.2 cu ft 4.8 cu ft 5.4 cu ft
Heaped 5.1 cu ft 5.8 cu ft 6.5 cu ft
Weight 89 lbs 97 lbs 105 lbs

My tractor has the 48 in bucket. I have single rear wheel weights on unfilled tires. I have had the bucket
loaded to the max with gravel with just rear wheel weights but made sure the bucket is VERY low. It would
tip very easily!!!

Currently, I have a half dozen pieces of steel welded together on the 3pt hitch. It weighs about 360 lbs.
The 3pt hitch is rated for 400 lbs of lift. With this additional weight, the tractor is quite stable and
is able to dig into a pile of dirt quite readily.

Sorry about the alignment in the tables. I did it in Wordpad and just copied
it over.

Regards,
Barry

THANKS BARRY, YOU HAVE BEEN A GREAT HELP. I BROUGHT THE SUB FRAME HOME TODAY AND TOOK ALL KIND OF MEASUREMENTS AND I THINK I CAN MAKE IT WORK , ANYWAY I MADE A DEAL ON THE LOADER AND WILL PICK IT UP TOMORROW . IT HAS THE 48" BUCKET AND IF I PUT A 4' BOX BLADE ON THE BACK ABOUT 400LBS. I SHOULD BE IN GOOD SHAPE AT LEAST TILL I COME UP WITH REAR WHEEL WEIGHTS.

HOW DOES THE REAR OF YOUR SUB FRAME MOUNT TO YOUR TRACTOR , I WILL HAVE TO MAKE REAR BRACKETS FOR MINE, AND I WILL RUN THE LOADER WITH OUT THE BELLY MOWER MAINLY FOR GROUND CLEARANCE . BUT THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM I HAVE TWO OTHER MOWERS.
