You do not NEED a Backhoe for 1.25 acres but if you want one, buy one. Life is short.

The Three Point Hitch and attendant PTO and implements which mount on the 3-Pt. are the focus point on a tractor for most people, not all.

It seems you are enraptured by the idea of a Backhoe rather than having a need.

But, then, I do not NEED a heavy plow, nor a Rotary Harrow, yet I have them.

Buy the Backhoe.

Enumerated tasks are not those I would buy a Backhoe to accomplish.

Jeff9366 I am anticipating:

1) removing part of the chain-link fence (FEL + bucket serving as power wheelbarrow and post puller)

2) removing/replacing a sprinkler system (Subsoiler, which can pull pipe, and hand trenching shovel) (rent a trencher)

3) deck rebuild (FEL + bucket)

4) regrading an area in the back. (FEL + bucket with Ratchet Rake attached )
(Landscape Rake or Angle Blade for large area and for 125 foot driveway if Ratchet Rake on bucket does not suffice)

2) Yes, it was Cascade tractor - I didn't see any LS tractors out front. They did have the Mahindra's and Massey's. It was a relatively small lot in of itself. I also felt sorry for the guy at the desk - he apparently broke his arm pretty well in several spots and wasn't at his best that day. That and it was raining:)
