Here is a pic of the skidding trail and of the final take from the old red oak. I have a few more trees to drag in and then I will get to splitting and stacking.
Those are huge compared to what grows up here in the frozen tundra! You're lucky you have high land to cut wood from. It looks like you can cut year round if you want. The places I get wood from wold sink a tractor in very short order in the summer, hence, our winter harvesting habits.

Problem here is the ground has to be dry or I can't pull the logs up the hills. I guess every place has its issues to deal with.:)
