After 20 years of messing around and not really having success at this plot with growing the 20 buck bags of stuff from the co op It's time for a change.
The land owner hunts this too. I've finally convinced him to stop messing around and do this right. I do all the work and he finances it.
Did a real soil test, amended the soil properly, planted 200 lbs of Whitetail Institute seed they custom mixed for this particular plot.
Loaded and ready to roll.
What we started with.
After running the sub soiler, then middle buster, removing rocks, then tilling in the 1000 lbs of various potash, ferts, etc.
We let it sit for 2 weeks then came back for one last tilling and spreading the seed.
2 weeks later...
Sparse but a good start!
Lets hope these guys like the new buffet.
