Hi guys,
I'm a proud new owner an old MF50C Industrial w/ 54A Backhoe.
It had been sitting in a farm shed for about 5 years, with the odd start to keep it running but doing no real work. When I played with it before buying it seemed to be working well (and I plan to restore it a little bit at a time).
On my first real outing digging I blew a hose on the backhoe and lost a lot of hydraulic oil. I replaced the hose and then the oil with ISO grade 46 hydraulic oil.
Now when it heats up I lose power in all the hydraulics (to the extent the loader lift doesn't move above two foot off the ground and the backhoe doesn't move at all) Whenever its cold, it works fine!
Does anyone know if this could be caused by using the incorrect oil grade, and what the recommended oil is?
I took a punt as I had some Grade 46 but suspect that I got it wrong!
