I have been to the previous facility several times and now the new one. I know that based on my sales and other dealers sales that they can produce that many.

They do an excellent job and when I order I can have units at my place in as little as a week or at the most 3 weeks. In fact, we are opeing a new store in Kalispell Montana next week and the support we get is great.

If you look Montana is advertising heavily, supporting dealers at local, regional and national farm shows and I know many dealers who get personal visits from the executives and with all this, the numbers are very possible.

Many people here have reported that own Montanas that the service they get from the company is great.

Now, having said all of this there will be growing pains and some hurdles but that is the nature of the beast. Man, I know in our area the JD dealer has some customers waiting on orders for months and the Kubota dealer sits on lots of inventory with not a whole lot of turn over.

Montana is making tremendous headway and the growth is excellent and I know that in 2005 I submitted dozens and dozens of warranty registration forms so although numbers are kept pretty close to the vest Montana is moving lots of units.

Oh well, with Montana, Kioti, Mahindra, Branson, TYM etc. cutting into the market share some of the other tractor companies are feeling the pinch.

Thanks,
Maka

So, here is what I have on this. UTB owned 51% of Beaver Creek Holdings. Montana bought that interest from UTB and that gives Montana a 25% ownership of Farmtrac.

Personally, I believe this and think that some interesting stuff is happening. I don't have documentation but was told it is a record that could be obtained if someone wanted to verify.

Boy, this is interesting.

Thanks,
Maka

Bob, you are right sir. However...and this is where it gets tricky...for Montana to purchase those shares Escorts LTD. has to approve the buy, and from all things I have heard they have no intention of letting this happen.

See they have entered into an "intent to buy" those shares, but Escorts has to approve that buy first.

Anybody confused yet?!?! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I am just Yesterday they didn't own none of Farmtrac and today they do. I am totally lost here /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I read an article last night on Montana. Montana tractors is owned primarily by JB Hunt. There are other high profile owners. Montana is increasing market share not by selling more montana tractors but by buying up the market. Montana now owns 51% of Farm Trac and 30% of UTB. They are trying to own 51% of UTB and actively trying to get TYM. They are also looking at buying several other small mfg. and incorporating them under the Montana name. Basically they're increasing market share by buying the competition. They do have a lofty goal of being in the top 5 by 2010 and Mr. Hunt himself said the only way to do that is to consolidate the smaller mfg. under one name, Montana, to effectively compete with the top 5 dealers. They also confirmed that everything will be made in South Korea. All the "mfg. names" they are buying are also built in South Korea.

Unless things have changed significantly very recently there is a lot of misinformation in your post. I am not trying to upset anyone but would you please post the article so we can all see what you are talking about.
Happy Tractoring

Cowboydoc,

Did you buy a Montana yet? It seems that a while back you were thinking about it. If you are still on the fence I would say go ahead and take the plunge because they are great tractors at a good price.

It seems everything is made overseas now. I guess it all started when John Deere an some of the other big brands strated making their tractors abroad. I do like the fact the Montana is made by a pretty reputable company in Korea. Some of the other big brands shop their production out to India, Mexico, Sri Lanka, etc.

No I bought a good old US tractor. It won't be long before Korea, India, Mexico, Sri Lanka, and the others will be telling us what to do and we'll be working for peanuts living in shacks. Doesn't seem anybody much cares anymore.

What would be a good ole Us tractor? I hope you don't mean John Deere. I was told by a JD dealer that all of their production is done in other countries. I don't think any tractors are made in the Us any more. Something like Bobcat or some reavy equipment may be made here but that is probably about it.

I was told by a JD dealer that all of their production is done in other countries.

I highly doubt the truth that any JD dealer would say this because most importantly it's a lie. And yes my new tractor is a 7220 that is 100% made in America. The main reason Deere went overseas with the smaller tractors is because people like you value price over everything else. BTW the new 3000 and 4000 series tractors are also primarily made in the US.
