The black plastic clamshell that has the switch and two colored buttons that tops the SDLS lever cracked and broke out around the retaining bolt on both halves of the clam shell. I was on a 30+ slope and in thick high fescue and cutting at 5". When it broke, I saw the pieces fall and was able to recover the two broken chunks. I used the foot treddle to finish work and drive home. I would have been easy to JB Weld except the two colored buttons are glued in with what appears to be clear epoxy, so that half of the clam shell is on the tractor. I did manage to coat all of the fault lines with JB Weld and they are curing as I key this in. No good way to clamp, I stretched electrical tape to put modest pressure on the glue joints. It needs a steel band around the base, the plastic they used is not up to my grip. A powder coated CNC aluminum clam would be much better. Are you reading this Ventrac??
