Sometimes you get lucky.
I've been looking for a companion chain saw to my Echo 14" limbing saw.
And my Ryobi electric chain saw.
And my Ryobi gas pole saw.
So the o'l brother decides to clean out his garage.
Comes up with this Husqvarna 61 chain saw that has maybe 5 hours of use on it.
It is 31 years old.
Been kept in the cupboard.
It's mine.
Free.
16" bar and a 20" bar and three chains.
Boy o' boy!
I can hardly wait to have my arm sewn back on.

Get your carb parts now if you still can get them. The "e" gas is hard on this old of unit. My saws are all in this era because that's what I did back then.

I see parts available for this model in quite a few places.
It's late and my brain is almost shut down; what is "e" gas?

I sure look good holding this saw!

Ethanol blended gas vs. pure gas

Not sure what things are like in the US, in Canada "super" gas is ethanol free, they make no guarantees about the two lower grades.

Nice saw, btw!

I've used it a few times now.
Getting the firewood stacked for Winter.
These sixty-four year old arms got pretty tired after too long.
Should'a had it when I was in my twenties.
God I love my 14" Echo.
But it won't cut those occasional massive trunks that block the road from time to time.
