Hi all,

I've got the pump dropped from my friend's TO-20 to replace the relief valve and control valve, and found these 2 copper things "hiding" in the port hole that feeds the tube that goes up to the lift cylinder. I pulled the bolt from the end of the passage and worked them out of there for a picture. I'm at a loss as to what they are, and whether they belong there or not. I'd sure hate to put things back together without knowing what they are! Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Looks like copper jackets over lead. If you found them anywhere else I would say they are fired bullets.
What are the dimensions?

Whatever they are they shouldn't be there.

They measure 5/16" dia by 9/16" long. A few guys here at work said they are for sure bullets. I am wondering if it's an old "field fix" to stick them in there for restricting flow or evening out a jerky lift? Weird, but at least I can put it back together without worrying about something else being broken in there.
