Need Advice-L4400 or GL3940

I can purchase the L4400 HST for about the same as the GL3940 GST. Both would have front loader (LA703 vs. LA724) and I'm adding an additional remote for using a grapple. I will be brush hogging about 16 ac. of pasture, maintaining 1/2 mile gravel drive and about 3 miles of woodland trails. Also, clearing/maintaining 3 or 4 -1 ac. food plots using the grapple, disc harrow, spreader, etc.

Would I notice the PTO HP difference if I choose the GL3940 (it has 3 less than the L4400)? (Disc, hog and box blade are 6 footers). What else might I need to consider?

I doubt you'd notice much, if any difference power wise. With GST, the 3940 will do a better job of getting its power to the rear wheels than the HST L4400, so it would probably be almost a wash at the drawbar. As far as PTO power, I doubt you'd see much difference there either unless you're doing something that pushes the limits. If you're planning to bush hog a jungle, that might push the limits.

What you might notice is that the heavier L3940 works to your advantage on the ground engagement work you have planned....while the HST L4400 would be easier to use in tight areas and for extensive loader work.

The Grand L's have some nice features....and they're not all "bells and whistles".

Why not the HST+ on the Grand L? I feel you get more in the GL vs the L.

Well Brahmus, I've reached my budget limit. Also, no GL3940 HST on the lot. The dealer is 'motivated' to sell the GST, which is why he's offering it at about the same price as the L4400 HST.
