Hi guys. I know from previous threads that there's a bunch of quadcopter fans on here. I lust after the often-mentioned DJI Phantoms, but the $1000 ante holds me back.
I just ran across a new "toy" quadcopter at Costco: made by "Propel", their "Altitude 2.0" model. At the risk of sounding like an ad for them, it is quite sophisticated for only $80! Six axis gyro (calibrateable), auto elevation/hover, HD camera/video w/micro SD card and USB reader(no definition of what resolution), 2 LiPo batteries w/charger, spare blades/guards. Controller has 500 ft range, auto-land, an automated stunt button for loops, selectable 3 or 4 channel mode, 3 selectable speeds (40%, 70%, 100%).
I'll post up some sample videos once I practice flying (or crashing) a bit! Which reminds me, Propel also offers "free replacement parts for 1 year".
