I have about 70 hours and notice that one of the pins for one of the curl cylinders is scored in about mid way. Is this something to be concerned about. I've greased it every 12 to 20 hours, so I suspect it is a defect.

How did you find out about the scoring? Removed the pin for a different reason?

Scoring is from lack of lube and high pressure. Misalignment, mis-sized bushings or dirt can be the reasons. If you have the pin out, I'd check the bushing too.

I replaced the cylinders because of defective welds, so they are new. My concern is that the scored pin might cause a problem with the new bushing.

One thing I notice when greasing machines is that often grease pours out of one end of the pin, and no matter how much grease I add nothing flows out of the other end. When this happens I wonder if grease, for whatever reason, is only getting to one side.

I'd replace the pin.

That's what I'm thinking, I hope the warranty department understands that it was caused by some design defect that didn't allow 1/2 of the pin to get lubrication.
