I'm a huge fan of stone of any kind!!!!!

Is the granite going to be part of a retaining wall? I'm not seeing how it will hold back the soil. Is there something behind it?

Here are a few shots of the backing for the wall. Keep in mind we have no frost here to worry about. What i do is stand the front vainer granite up. Next fill in with large chunks trapping the wire that ties it all together. Using type"S" mortar mix I build a wall behind the vainer an its trapping the wire. This makes a wall that is 6 to 8" wide sitting on a granite foundation that's 12 " or so wide.So the back is all gravel letting water to seap out.The top will be capped with a counter top 5/4 granite.
Extra help today in my 10 year old grandson & my daughter.:thumbsup:an I really needed it!

Are you going to use any fabric to keep the water away from the granite? or does it matter? I think the sheer size of it should hold it in place. Have you priced concrete to mortar for behind the wall? I think it would be both stronger and cheaper. Since it's behind the wall, it wont matter that it's not as attractive as mortor.

I can control the amount of motor I use. with the price of concreat+ they would tear up my yard.Water is not a issue.

I like it, the world needs less idiots and more clever people like you. I have been researching those basic New Hollands, do you like yours?

With regards to you question about the basic new hollands, I purchased the t1530 4x4 last years and it's great. It came with the R$ tires but had the dealer swap them for r1's. Also purchased the NH 72" box scrapper but have yet use it.

I have used it for extreme brush hogging with a sql 172, I have the tl250 loader w/quick attach and recently purchased the longs obg2 grapple. I have been moving huge piles of brush, logs and rocks. I have also opened up some old log skids about 1200 feet so far.

I am new to all of this and the only thing I did not look at was the ability to have a back hoe but I think if I need that more then just a short rental I will upgrade to a larger model of tractor.
