I left the tractor outside with a tarp over it when a horse came along, pulled the tarp off and chewed up the seat.
Any one bought a new seat lately that fits this model? The OEM seat is pretty pricey $$$.

Thanks for providing the engineering and construction details on the inside of the seat! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A company by the name of Michigan Seat makes a significant number of OEM seats, but I'm not sure if they made the NH. You might look at what Northern (tools and equipment) sells, but recognize that all you really want is the seat, not the entire suspension. That's what usually gets pricey.

Wilbur, you need to start feeding Mr. Ed a whole lot more oats. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Before you spend a whole lot of money on a non-OEM seat, I think I'd look in the yellow pages for an auto upholstery shop and let them give me an estimate. I'd take the seat pan off and carry it in so they could see exactly what you need. Tell them the horse story...they'll love it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Tazz,

Had me howling even before I saw the seat !! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Sorry, but them dan-fangled horses almost act like large goaties sometimes. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I only keep my tractor within EAGLE eyeshot when I have my tractor out with the horses around.

Again jinman saves the day. Great idea & will proabably save you hundreds !!

You must have been FURIOUS !! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif But then what are you going to do when you look at the horse. They act as if it was purely natural. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hey all, glad everyone ELSE got a kick out this! LOL

I searched the internet and it looks like the Michigan seat may be the closest match, they might even make it for New Holland, I don't know. I have a Northern Tools nearby and will take a look at what they have. Most of the seats out there look too thin or small.

One major factor in selecting this tractor is the comfort (of the seat), ergonomics and ease of operation. I've tried several other color tractors and found this one to be the best for me, especially when I'm on it for 4-5 hours on my day off, I need to be comfortable. Basically unless I can find a very good or better match at a better price then I will stay with the OEM seat.

I asked a friend i the upholstery business and he could do a basic recovery but not match the contour of the original unless he could buy the replacement cushion.

Also, thanks to Mr. Horse, I found the seat pan to be very rusted on the inside! Strange because the outside and seat looked almost brand new. The rust must be from moisture under the foam and it looks like the pan itself was not painted.

For any of you concerned about the horse, he's doing just fine. If that plastic got caught up and caused colic it would have added an easy $150 (or more) to the price of the new seat when adding in the vet bills.

Thanks for the help! I'll let you know.

Boy what a mess...

A horse once did the same thing to my brother's ear. You recon that horse really wanted to bite your rear end, but settled for the closest thing to it?

If that were my seat, I wouldn't know whether to be mad at the horse or thank it. I would take the opportunity to upgrade the seat a little bit. It sits like nothing more than a riding mower seat on my TC29 and my TC35.

When you find one let me know. I had a cat decide to use mine as a scraching post. The one from a dealer is over $200. You know dealers unable to move off list and sale it for a reasonable price and make a sale but instead lose a sale makes no sense.
