Well it's new to me.... and hopefully will be a great toy when it's fixed!
It's a Case 4230 (80hp) I found in a 'damaged repairables' yard not far from here. I've spoken to the dealer who sold it new (1996) and he has confirmed that it was in good mechanical condition before a car ran into it taking the front axle off.
When the front casting/axle broke away it broke the [tombstone] casting and the engine block making it an insurance write-off.
I've sourced replacement engine block, sump (oil pan), tombstone, front differential (the pinion broke on the original one) and have an agricultural engineer lined up to strip the original engine and rebuild it using the new block.
Total cost including a new door, gaskets, labour, etc. will be around £4000 ($7000). The tractors are selling for between £8500 and 10,000 in the UK right now.
