New Truck Mobil 1for diesel/gasoline

JFYI and nothing more. There is a new Mobil 1 product, Truck and SUV formula for Gasoline and Diesel engines, full synthetic oil in a 5W-40 range. Here is what the bottle says:

Gasoline it meets SL/SJ, for diesel it meets CI-4/CH-4/CG-4/CF-4-CF. It meets all requirements for Cummins, Powersroke, Duramax and Navistar and all diesel trucks made by Ford, GM, GMC and Dodge. It is non-energy conserving.

It has a yellow top and is now at Wally World for 4.75 dollars qrt. Rebates and 5 qrt jugs available soon. This oil should be excellent for those wanting a all season synthetic oil for light diesel tractors. I just put it in the 'botas and in my little Toy. That M-1 has always been great stuff. Now that they've added the diesel classification, it just got a lot better, IMO.

That oil is just re-packaged Mobil Delvac 1 oil. The re-packaging is just a marketing thing. If you compare the specs on the Mobil web site they are the same. Should be good stuff. I'll likely switch to this oil at my next oil change.

Yes, I think so also and as such that means we are getting the finest diesel oil on the planet. There is ONE BIG DIFFERENCE between Mobil Delvac 1 and the new Mobil 1 Truck/SUV formula--guess what it is--ok, ok, I will tell you---Mobil Delvac 1 is diffucult to find and to my knowledge has never been sold at local auto parts stores much less Wal Mart etc. The new Mobil 1 product this thread is about is AVAILABLE right now over the counter at a variety of stores including Wal Mart. Thus the reason I began this JFYI thread /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

I agree. That is the marketing deal. Most places don't carry Delvac 1 since it is considered "Diesel Oil". Just slap a "Truck and SUV" tag on it and now many more places will carry it. Smart move on the part of Mobil. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the good news. I'm coming up on an oil change is about 10 hours, and have been looking for a diesel-rated synthetic without any success so far.

I'll look for the yellow cap...

Perhaps you should start a JFYI thread about how Amsoil products are now available at K-Mart, Wal Mart, Auto Zone etc and other common retail outlets--ooops---it isn't---oh well, make mine the 1. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif J

Oooops, I assumed that anyone reading this thread would:

1) Own a computer!

2) Have a credit card!

3) Have an address that UPS will deliver to!

4) Know how to order a product that they want online!

5) Not want to run all over the countryside to common retail outlets, wasting time, money, and gas only to discover, as Rimmer apparently did, that he has "been looking for a diesel-rated synthetic without any success so far."!!

PS: I used to use Syntec 5W-50, but since my common retail outlet, WalMart, no longer sells it, I have been buying a better product online with less effort.
