The most often used attachment on any tractor I've owned was the FEL.
On a small tractor you almost always need a counterweight of some kind. With a 2WD you need a counterweight just for braking on slopes even unloaded.
If you want a FEL I'd stick with 4WD unless you go to a larger heavier machine, then sometimes you can get away with a 2WD depending on design.
