opinons on MF 294-4

Looking to purchase my first tractor and I've found a local MF 294-4 with 1600 hrs.
It come with a bush hog, loader, disc and 4 point plow.

How are these tractors to work on and get parts for. I've been told it was an italian made tractor.
What should I look for when checking it out. Are there any know issues or things to inspect?

I can buy the tractor in the $12k range. Does this seem like a reasonable first tractor. Will be used for Bush hogging, gravel road maint and some logging and light clearing.

Any help is appreciated.

Don't know much about that specific model -- but it sounds like a good deal to me. Almost all of the Masseys I've seen have been fairly simple to work on; parts should not be a big problem either. It's not a exactly a small tractor, though, but I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for, transportation needs, etc. Best of luck. Let us know if you get it or not.
