I have a 1978 JD 350 and the steering box needed rebuilding. The most important part, the steering shaft and ballnut, is NLA for John Deere. Since it was built by Yanmar I looked over in the Yanmar forum and found Hoye Tractor. They had the shaft and ballnut, bearings and seal in stock. Everything went together just right aided by great instructions on Hoye's web site. I guess this must be a common problem. In any event, they were a great help and I fixed the steering for about $300.

This is a problem with tractors being marketed or built by different people then the sellers! We see it several times a year at a minimum. Manufacturerers have divorces tooo!

We have seen it before and not to fault anyone but it will happen with twenty year old equipment!!!!! Sometimes your just lucky to get the parts such as safety switches becuase they might only be used for this country.

Thats why I like manufactuerers that are so proud they only allow their name on the product!!!!
