If you look just to the right of the center of the picture you can see the back of a porpoise, bottle nosed dolphin or whatever you want to call it. I have an HP Photosmart 318 camera. It isn't too bad for a cheap, $300 or so, camera. It doesn't work very well for action shots such as this. By the time it figures exposure and the light comes on the subject has re- submerged. :(

I had to jack with this picture some to get it where you could see any detail. Most of these are Red Snapper, the small gray fish on the first stringer is a triggerfish.

Nice pictures of Galveston, Brad. The water sure looks pretty. Looks like you caught a lot of fish.

My wife and I went out on the New Buccaneer several years ago... it anchored at the deep hole at the end of the south jetty. All that anyone caught was sand trout, but we caught plenty many of them. That was way back before we had our own boat.

I love fishing at the jetties. You never know from one trip to the next what you might catch. On one trip to the south jetty a huge ship's wake surprised me and I was almost thrown out of the boat. I was standing on the front deck and lost my footing but managed to fall inside onto the floor of the boat. My butt hit the console on the way down and I was sore for a week. I was so busy trying not to fall in the water that I dropped my rod and reel over the side. Fortunately it was rigged with popping cork on and I was able to snag the line near the cork with another rod and retrieve it. I told my wife that next time I lost my balance I would go ahead and fall overboard! The water would definitely be a lot softer than the boat console and since I float like a bar of ivory soap drowning would not be a concern!
