I knew it wouldn't take long for that comment. Yes, it does come with a ROPS. Unfortunately, there was no way to get it in the storage barn with the ROPS on. So, it had to come off. Also, I'll be mowing under several trees with low branches. I inquired with the dealer about a folding ROPS for the bx1500, but he claimed that there isn't one. He did say some people make a folding ROPS out of the fixed (by cutting and pinning or hinging), but from what I've read here, that's also somewhat controversial.

If it means anything, I promise to be careful.

Frankly, I'd be alot more concerned if it was a CUT, like the JD 4xxx's. They look downright dangerous to me with the tall profile and narrow footprint. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

First job is to put down some gravel where the bx wheels dig into the mud in front of the storage barn

I've never operated an FEL before, though I did get a fair amount of work on Dad's CAT D-2 when I was a kid. I forgot how annoying it is to not be able to see your work! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
