Tractor is a Ford 1520 4wd 23hp / 19.5 at PTO so I am thinking 5 ft would be to much.
The upgrade to replace PTO shaft that was stolen included a shaft/clutch combination.
The id tag on old stock gear box has weathered and numbers and mfg are not readable.
But the older gearbox looks larger.

The engine HP and the PTO HP noted here are about the same as the 8N. I have been using a 5 ft KK 3 pt. brush hog for about 19 years now. I even had a custom brush hogging business on the side using them.. Other than needing to use an ORC, I have never really had any problems using the 5 ft unit. The 1520 should not have any either..
