Tractor
Bobcat Toolcat 5600T Kioti CK20, Cat D2 dozer, Cat 420 tractor loader, Deer 644E loader, Bobcat E32 mini and Bobcat 590 skidsteer, Toro Groundsmaster 325D
looking for good or bad comments on what I am considering, some 25 years ago I built a post pounder for the Deere skidsteer, basically took a old Wheatheart pounder head, mounted to a quick attach mounting plate and added a tilt(side to side) cylinder, it worked great, with the door removed I could set the pounder on ground, with machine running axillary on would be able to hold post with the arms and raise the hammer and release with the control valve mounted to the frame, and drive in posts.

The original design I would be able to pick up the post from inside machine but the idea of the valves and levers first tipping away them coming towards the cab was defiantly not a safe idea and thus scrubbed it.

Since the last 15 years the old Deere is at the cabin, its old but does a good job launching the pontoon boat, putting in and out the docks and landscape and my go to machine has been the S590 or Toolcat.

The S590 will never run the pounder, first its got so many safety features getting out the cab while leaving axillary on is not possible so thats why the pounder is not used.

Now looking at the Toolcat its possible to use it for a project replacing the old fence posts that have rotted or been knocked down, the idea is mount the pounder on the Toolcat, I can even transport the posts in the back, set the pounder in place, set the park brake, exit the machine then lower the arm and engage the axillary, move to the pounder and use as needed, once done lift arm and on to the next post.

This would get the job done but is there any downside? if I tried the S590 it needs 2 people, one inside and a operator for the pounder and the wife would not be up to this

The neighbor had a post pounder on the front of a old Farmall narrow front tractor. I would drive the tractor while he ran the pounder. It sure beats setting posts by hand!

Does that pounder require a direct line to tank? If yes will that be a problem on the toolcat?

No clue on safeties etc. built into the toolcat to prevent machine operation without an operator on the seat.

the pounder just needs a auxilary hook up typical two hoses, it requires the aux to be active then the 3 valve setup only uses 2, one for the holding rillers the other raise and drop the weight

no safeties was home built some 20 plus years ago, the valve setup is on a arn off to the side

from outside the Toolcat with safety bar down you can opperate the joystick and turn aux on, there is no seat safety on the Toolcat
