I understand better how you're set up now, thanks. I still think there is risk of burning out the motor is the chute is frozen in place. At the least, I'd suggest that your switch(es?) be spring-loaded so they can't stay "ON" without continuous manual activation (like a hydraulic control with no detents).
Once you get this set up and working, you'll really enjoy the control it gives you....next, you'll want to rig up a control for the deflector at the top of the chute, so you'll never have to leave your seat!

I think it should be able to overcome a bit of ice but I will make sure it is free before starting. The switches are spring loaded and I will be putting a fuse in the power line as well.

I am looking forward to the control while sitting comfortably in the cab.

We don't get the big storms here like you might in PEI. Where are you on the island? We used to own property in the Belfast Iona area - just off the Trans Canada from Cooper's General Store.
