Get a pump with a built in resvoir.. like a ford.. and that will be fine for small cyls's.
On old ford N's, there is a guy that basically sells a power steering pump that he retrofits to be belt driven/ engine mounted on the N and it provided the old N with live hyds.
It's also roughly 3 gpm.. and 1000-1500 psi.. pump depending.. etc.
