Problem with 20# propane tank valve

The problem with the OPD valve is it doesn't allow our roofing torches to work properly.

Not enough flow? IIRC that is a common complaint with those who run high BTU devices from tanks with the new valves.

Exactly, the OPD valve is designed to limit the flow and when heating modified rubber roofing you can't have your tank acting empty when its still full. Even some of our heaters pull too much for the OPD valve.

The guys at the fill station said they get a lot of half full tanks in to be filled because the guys think the tank is empty because the valve won't let the fuel out fast enough to work properly.

The worst thing about these tank is when a heater explodes you run to the tank to shut off the gas and the valve turns to the fully off position but the gass keeps on pouring out of the tank.
