Twice the weight on long end as well as twice the distance.
In fact the ladder might be the only 'weak link'.

In fact I once did similar in order to repair a brick chimney using bricks and 2" x 10" as I did not have scaffolding.

Probably real. That does remind me of the old joke about the guy falling down the side of a multistory building and at the coroner's inquest a lower floor witnesses testimony to the victims descent that he thought it might be a sex crime. " and he screamed out where did that xxxxxxxxx go"?

Besides, do the stabilizer cylinders have some sort of protection such that if a hose breaks; the cylinder still holds (must be powered down for example). If a stabilizer hose broke while you were on the edge of a hole it would look like the pic above. Doesn't seem likely to me that this would be overlooked on a modern machine as in the OP pic.

I don't think the stabilizers have any hose burst protection. Why would you need it?
