Tractor
Kubota B7800
I own a 2001 B7800. I purchased this tractor about a month ago. Tonight I was working on the rear lights. I have all the rear lights working now. I have two wires I can’t figure out where they go. One is blue and white. It has power as soon as the key is on. The black wire has no power to it at all. It’s just cut. I was wondering if anyone else with a B7800 knows?

Thank you,
Mike

The black wire might be a ground wire? Is the other one hot ANYTIME the key is ON or does a light switch have to be on too? Not much help I'm afraid. Ignoring/not having wiring diagrams I have usually been able to find a wire somewhere around the rear fenders of every Kubota (B2150, BX2200, etc.) that is hot only when the light switch is on. Always a hunt and peck back there for me.

It’s not the light switch. That was the 1st thing I checked. It’s only hot when the key is on.

They do have a harness for the rear work light kit. I added it on mine. can't remember if it was the right or left side the switch was on the light but it was powered only with the key on.

I think the old style rear lights on those had the on/off switch on the light housing itself.

Good catch Scotty ! That would explain the wire being hot all the time the switch is on. Very logical.

Thank you. I asked a friend who has a 98 b7800. He said he didn’t see the wire on his tractor. I’m going to add a switch and light for plowing this winter.

I bought my kit from the kubota dealer and it was under 100$ CAD but that was back in 2008. came with the bracket and the light. It really was plug and play, took all of 10 minutes to install. the light was mounted on the fender though. It created a large shadow with the chute of the blower. I would mount some leds up high on the rops if I was to do it again.
