I have about 725' of heavily cobbled road. Worked it over last year and improved the surface but it still needed more. And better drainage. We've gotten lots of rain this season and last week things finally dried out a bit. Received a load of road base on Thursday and had a neighbor come down this weekend. Jon has an old B21 with a backhoe and lots of experience. Between the two of us we put a pretty good dent in it. Another load of rock coming Tuesday and he'll spread it for me while I'm at work. Big improvement and I'm really pleased how it came out.

Good work.
I wouldnt say that. Good roads have good drainage. Water is the biggest enemy of roads. Gently but quickly getting it off & away from the road is the key. Sometimes but not always ditches.

The three most important things about roads/driveways......
DITCHES....DITCHES....DITCHES !!!

Finished the remainder of the 725'. Will touch up the north end after the next wave of rains pass. Pretty happy with the outcome.

Just wondering how many yards and how thick did you spread it. Some of my prior pictures of my drive looks like yours, washed out. Jon
