He says its 16 pto hp is that right? Its a 2cyl. engine.Does this tractor have a good rep. And hows the parts availibility?

Chopper,
I cannot provide you with any info on the Beaver. However, I have been offered a Satoh 650 to cut my 6 acres. Have you found any good web sites or info on this manufactor? I have never heard of this brand and I'm unsure of available parts?
Thanks,

Which Beaver is it... Original, I, II, or II S372...etc.
{assuming original}
Mitsubishi-Satoh Beaver 4WD, Mfr. 1977-81, 15 HP Engine, 41 cid, 1256 lbs., Last fact. price $3,520.

No PTO HP rating was published, but I'd guesstimate between 10-12 PTO HP with a 41 cid, 2 cylinder engine. Seen a few parked along side the roadway for years apparently not running...

When you get below the 15-16 PTO HP range, you are severely limiting yourself to it's usefulness on multiple implements...

The Beaver may actually have been the first sub-compact tractor as we now know the Kubota BX series to be. The difference is Kubota did their homework a little better and sized the engine accordingly.

Bottom line... I feel the Beaver is much too underpowered to be classified as a tractor versus a lawn mower with a 3-pt hitch attached...

edkick,

I have a Satoh S650G and it's a can do unit. What kind of price is on it and what area... maybe it's my older Satoh. {picture attached}

I have it at my father's house, and brush hog his property ~ 5 acres of fields with a 4' rotary cutter.

Parts are outrageous... so don't break anything.

Satoh was Mitsubishi's ticket to compact tractors in the US market. Uses a Mazda 4 cylinder gas engine with 22.5 PTO HP.

That Beaver picture looks the same, what year is that one? Someone asked if its air cooled, not the one I looked at. Do you know anything about a Ford 1100? Theres one of them there also, about the same price & shape. It has a FEL only.840hrs on the clock. He told me its an early 80s with 13 pto hp. 2cyl. engine , which is the better machine?
