Sealed Bearing Maintenence?

   / Sealed Bearing Maintenence? #13
If you are concerned about the amount of grease still in the bearing and can access the bearing fairly easily, take a eyeglass screwdriver and pop the seal off, repack a little grease and pop the seal back on. I often do this with new bearings because I've had bearings go out prematurely only to find out it had little to no grease from the factory. I always say it must have been a Monday when this bearing was manufactured. LOL

It seems to have nothing to do with the day of the week anymore but rather the company bottom line! In the last 15 years I haven't seen a properly greased sealed bearing at all and will not install any until I check and properly grease them.
