Skid Diesel Tanks

Don't know if you have a set of forks, but if so, then a pallet with one full 55 gal barrel would weigh about 440 lbs, and 4 of them full would weigh about 1760 lbs. Either, one at a time, or all four if your tractor can handle the load.

You could easily make a 4 wheel trailer by just adding the axles from an old trailer house to your 300 gallon tank You can usually find them for sale cheap complete with springs. You could weld the spring attachments directly to the skids on the tank or even bolt them on. Might need some adapta-plates if bolting, but it should be doable.
Still think the best option and likely the cheapest was the trailer on Craigslst made from a pickup truck bed and axle.

Something else to consider, Unless you are driving a diesel pickup, (which would negate the feasibility of buying red fuel) or putting alot of hours on a tractor per season (which most hobby tractors dont do) 300 gallons is alot of fuel. Besides the concern of fuel deteriation, even with some saving's at bulk price, 300 gallons is alot of cash sitting in a fuel tank, when it could probably be used for other purposes.

1*I'm thinking of getting a 300 gallon skid type tank.
Mike

2*I don't think that would be a concern if it was used up in less than a couple of years.
3*The savings is from the fuel being tax free not because you buy it in bulk.
